Gauging Skills | Autism After 16

One of the first things people ask me about my 21-year-old son Mickey is, “Is he high functioning?”
I hate that question.
Are they asking his IQ score? If he speaks? Whether he will be able to live independently? I don’t know how to answer....

Miscarriage and Stillbirth Support Groups

The two main organisations I found to be helpful after my miscarriage, are SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Support and Bonnie Babes. SANDS Queensland is now on Facebook and I think it's a great idea

SANDS also has coffee mornings and holds Remembrance Services to commemorate babies who have died under 20 weeks. They also offer a listening ear, run by volunteer parents who have been through a similar experience.

Bonnie Babes Foundation had a coffee table book which they put out once a year, called "Pride of the Nation" (our son was in the 2008 edition!). They also had a forum on their website (now defunct).
