Heartwarming holiday story By Richard Branson - Dec 25, 2012
Happy holidays! We've gathered family and friends around to enjoy the holiday season here on Necker. There's no sign of snow but there's plenty of holiday cheer.
How are you spending this special time of year? Wherever you are, here's a heartwarming Christmas story from one of our wonderful Virgin Atlantic crew.
This video shows baby Maddalena and mum Kate Dowse, who does a brilliant job working for us as cabin crew. Kate prematurely gave birth to twins Isabella and Madelena recently. The twins were born at just 23 weeks and Maddalena weighed 382g (under a pound).
Sadly, Isabella did not make it but Maddelena has just been discharged with mum and dad to be home for Christmas. She is one of the smallest premature babies ever to survive - a truly remarkable story.
Best wishes to you and all the family Kate - and happy holidays to everyone all around the world.
